Dentist, Practice Overview
Dr. Belvett obtained her dental license in 2001 and has been a practicing dentist in the Triad/Triangle area since 2004. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada; she received a DDS degree (Doctor of Dental Surgery) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of the top dental schools in the country. Dr. Belvett then completed a hospital residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in New York, NY where she gained extensive experience in dental trauma.
Each year Dr. Belvett continues to advance her education by taking clinical courses to keep her technical skills current with the latest dental technologies. Most recently, Dr. Belvett has completed both a year-long dental implant course and certification in CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing) dentistry. Dr. Belvett is a member of the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the Old North State Dental Society.
Dr. Belvett is active in the community and is a member of several local community organizations. In addition, Dr. Belvett serves on the board of 3-Dimensional Women (a Women's advocacy group) and the Friends Board of the Nasher Museum at Duke University. Dr. Belvett is also a member of the Millenium Development Goals (MDG) Subcommitee of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. As a member of the Old North State Dental Society, Dr. Belvett participates in a mentoring program and currently mentors two UNC School of Dentistry students as they matriculate through Dental School.
Dr. Belvett enjoys travel, spending time with her family and running on Durham's numerous outdoor trails with her dog Marcus. She has completed three half-marathons.
